Activities of the RUET Press and Information Office

The RUET Press and Information Office is the central department responsible for information management, media coordination, public relations, and publication to promote the university’s image. The office collects and verifies reliable information on the university’s academic, research, administrative, and co-curricular activities and plays a key role in news publication, dissemination, event management, and other administrative activities across various media and digital platforms.

The office collects photographs, videos, and descriptions of various events including convocations, national days, conferences, seminars, workshops, visits, research achievements, and significant activities to prepare press releases, which are sent to national and local media. Preparing urgent notices, statements, and proclamations, as well as maintaining a smooth flow of information, are routine responsibilities. In special cases, the office provides necessary information in accordance with the Right to Information Act.

Publication Activities:

The office edits and publishes the RUET annual diary, calendar, newsletter, booklet, folder, memento, magazine, and other promotional publications. It also designs and prepares promotional materials for various events as part of its activities.

Advertisement and Publicity Activities:

The office coordinates the timely publication of university job advertisements, admission notices, tender notices, and other important announcements in the media.

Digital and Media Activities:

The office manages the university’s social media platforms and regularly updates information. It prepares audio-visual reports and documentaries and arranges their dissemination. It preserves the archive of the university’s print and audio-visual documentation. The office also maintains communication with all media personnel and media organizations and conducts official communications on behalf of the university.

Archive Management:

The office systematically preserves the university’s history, photographs and videos of events, news clippings, reports, and press coverage. It creates and maintains a digital archive for future use.

Administrative Activities:

The office sends necessary information about RUET to various government ministries, the UGC, and other universities. It assists in official correspondence, notes and file management, budgeting, and office administration. It implements all directives provided by the university administration.

Overall, the Press and Information Office serves as the central hub for information flow, media coordination, and public engagement of the university. The office plays a vital role in shaping and promoting the university’s positive image.

Office Hours: Saturday–Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The RUET Press and Information Office works beyond regular office hours, up to 9:00 PM, during special university events. Additionally, the office operates on weekly holidays in case of urgent university requirements.
